Shane Norris has spent a lot of time around showbusiness. He gets that appearances aren’t what they always seem.
It’s why he’s so open about the trauma he’s experienced, and the anxiety he’s dealt with for much of his life.
“I do have what’s called Chronic PTSD,” Shane Norris said. “One of the reasons I started taking CBD is to calm those feelings and anxieties, all the bad stuff that you get with those letters. And it worked flawless for me.”
Norris, 63, is a lighting and music producer living in New Orleans, Louisiana. He’s worked on TV and movie sets across the state, and helped to produce a weekly free concert livestream during the pandemic for an organization that he still volunteers with, the Funky Uncle.
Norris has spent most of his life living in New Orleans, in and around the vibrant music scene there. In the several days we spent with him, it felt like just about everywhere we went, he ran into someone he knew.
“Are you going to Fritzer’s tomorrow?” Shane crooned in his southern drawl at an old friend, shaking hands as they passed.
Norris is every bit the socialite, and he’s beloved by many of his friends for more than just his good humor. He’s used his experience as a healer to help friends around him. He’s been an herbalist for more than 20 years, making salves, tinctures, and aromatherapies for himself and others.
Cannabis has been a big part of that.
He takes Full Spectrum Classic Tincture daily, along with CBD 200mg Softgels and often incorporates CBG Isolate into his salves and herbal remedies.
"I get up in the morning, make coffee, and dog food,” Norris said. “I might take a 200mg (softgel) at that point, but more likely I'll pick some of the flavored stuff like the Chocolate Mint… And I'll put that in my coffee as I drink it. Ozzie gets a shot in his food as well.
Norris has found stability with his anxiety that allows him to work a hectic schedule in the production industry, while still playing a part for the Funky Uncle free concert series. He spends his free time practicing herbalism, walking his dog along the levee, and taking in as much music as he can.
